Comparison report about third-party Android markets
Test objects: Amazon Appstore (v7.0009.383.0), Aptoide (v4.2.4), SlideME Market (v5.25), Samsung Apps (v13112804.12.008.0)
Test environment: Samsung Galaxy S3,
android 4.1.2, root
Installation package size
Large size of Installation package will
cost you greater mobile traffic. Less is better.
Usage of ram
It has an influence on your android
operation system running speed. Less is better.
Startup time
Little startup time gives you a good user
experience. Less is better.
It affects how long your mobile standby
time will be. Less is better.
The test report shows me that SlideME
stands out from crowd. I would like to use SlideME as my second-choice if
Google Play does not give me the good user experience.
The report is only made by me, not by any
authority organization, so you just take it as a reference. Each of the four
market has their own advantages, and it is sure that they are the best markets
in the world!

Should You Root Your Android Phone?
If you've done any Internet searching on the topic of Android,
you've most likely run across either forums or articles discussing "rooting"
your Android phone. While this article is not intended to show you how to root
your phone nor to convince you to or not to root, it is intended to provide an
impartial summary of the advantages and disadvantages of rooting an android
phone.

What is "Rooting?"
The Android phone that you have learned to love and enjoy is running an
operating system that was designed for commercial and private use. Like most
any operating system, several features have been disabled, either for future
use or to prevent the casual user from causing permanent damage to the
operating system. "Rooting" is the process in which the limitations
are removed and full-access is allowed. Once rooted, the Android phone owner
will have more control over many settings, features and performance of their
phone. Basically, "rooting" means to get to the root of the operating
system and to have the ability to make global changes.
Disadvantages
There are two main disadvantages to rooting and Android phone;
- Rooting immediately voids your phone's warranty-Once rooted, don't try to bring your phone back for service or warranty work. You are on your own!
- Rooting involves the risk of "bricking" your phone-In essence, a "bricked" phone is no better than carrying around a brick in your pocket. The phone is dead when it has been "bricked."
Other potential disadvantages, though less severe, are still worthy of consideration;
- Poor performance-Though the intention of "rooting" a phone is to give the phone more performance, several users have found that, in their attempts to speed up the phone or add additional features, that their phones lost both performance speed and features. Remember that when you "root" your Android phone, you are making changes to the stock operating system.
- Viruses-Yes, even phones can get viruses. A common practice that people do with "rooted" phones is to flash their ROM's with custom programs. Whenever you make changes to the code of a software, you run the risk of introducing a virus.
Advantages
"Rooting" your Android phone does afford you numerous benefits,
including;
- Running special applications-Superuser is an app that can only be run on a rooted Android phone. This allows you to control which apps have access to the "root" system. Another popular application that "rooting" affords is the ability to tether a computer to your Android phone so that the computer can access the Internet using the phone's data connection. Another program can allow your Android to be used as a WiFi Hotspot without having to pay your provider for the feature.
- Freeing up memory-When you install an app on your phone, it is stored on the phone's memory. "Rooting" allows you to move installed applications to your SD card, thus freeing up system memory for additional files or apps.
- Custom ROM's-This is the most powerful feature of "rooted" phones. There are hundreds of custom ROM's that can do anything from speeding up the processing speed of your phone to changing the entire look and feel of your phone.
Summary
The decision to "root" your Android phone is one that should not
be rushed into. Though the allure of having an unlocked phone is powerful,
having a "bricked" phone is, trust me, not very much fun.

How to uninstall apps from Android smartphones?
Android OS allows you to uninstall any app
you want, for the purpose whether to improve device running speed
or to free up storage space. The process is very easy to follow. Let me show
you how to uninstall apps that you do not need anymore. I use S3 to give a
demonstration, you can draw inferences about other devices.
1.
The Settings menu
Press on Settings, you will see a listing of all the settings that you can
change, find and select Applications
manager to continue with the uninstalling process.
2.
Selecting the app to delete
Once in the Applications manger menu, you will see three sub menu. Select the
default menu DOWNLOADED which list
all the apps that you installed.
3.
Deleting the app
Press on the app you want to delete, a
screen will appear that gives some details about the app, then press on the Uninstall button to uninstall the app. Once
finished deleting, your screen will show that the app has been deleted.
There are a number of apps on the Google
Play Store which aim to help you uninstall apps. Although they promise to be
able to any app, the reality is that you'll need to root your device before
this will work.
For example, App Tools has an excellent
function to deal with it.
First, open http://www.appstudo.com/ to
download App Tools http://api.appstudo.com/appdata/apptools/APPTOOLS.exe , and
then install on your PC
Second, connect Android Smartphone to PC
with a data line, open App Tools, your sartphone will be connect with App Tools
automatically
Third, click on My Phone, click on App,
you will see your app list. Check the app you want to unistall, and then click
on Uninstall Applications, the app
will be deleted for a sec.
App Tools has more powerful features, you
can discover it by yourself. Hope you will like it. Please stay tuned for more
insights on Android and App Tools in my blog.
How to install apk files on your Android Smartphone?
Apk file is application program(app) for
Android OS, it can be installed by using the built-in package manager or App
Tools.
Before you get started, you need to check
and perform some settings. Why do we need to this? Because when it comes to
install app from an Android platform sharing by others, or may be a beta app
from a developer’s website, which means you tend to bypass official app store,
you need to make some special arrangement for apps installing.
1.
Open Settings in your Android Smartphone
2.
Click on Security
3.
Check the Unknown Sources option
When you have done these arrangement, you
can follow the steps below.
Steps to install
apps by using built-in package manager:
1.
Connect Android Smartphone
to PC with a data line, copy the apk file in your computer and paste
to your Android Smartphone SD card
2.
Open My Files to find the apk you just pasted
3. Click on this apk, and then click on Install when a dialog window apear. Then installation steps ends
Now we suggest a
new way to install apps, by using App Tools:
1. Open http://www.appstudo.com/ to download App Tools http://api.appstudo.com/appdata/apptools/APPTOOLS.exe , and then install on your PC
2. Connect Android Smartphone to PC with a data line, open App Tools, your sartphone will be connect with App Tools automatically
3. Click on My Phone, click on App, click on Install Applications to find your apk in your PC to install
4. Wait a second, open your smartphone, you will find the app have been there.
App Tools has more powerful features, you can discover it by yourself. Hope you will like it. Please stay tuned for more insights on Android in my blog.
